STMicroelectronics Adds 6-Axis Inertial Module to Ultra-Low-Power MEMS Sensors Offering for Industrial Applications The ISM330DLC six-axis IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) extends STMicroelectronics’ family of ultra-low power MEMS sensors for industrial applications, which combine high accuracy and robustness with long-term availability assured by ST’s 10-year longevity program. Containing a 3-axis accelerometer and a 3-axis gyroscope with user-selectable full-scale up to ±16g and ±2000dps respectively, the ISM330DLC provides highmeasurement resolution and smart energy-saving features to enable long-lasting battery-powered industrial devices. Ideal for applications such as industrial IoT systems, robots, drones, platform stabilizers, and telematics, its wide accelerometer bandwidth up to 3kHz also allows use in vibration-monitoring and compensation systems. The ISM330DLC consumes just 0.5mA in normal combination mode and 0.75mA in high-performance mode. In addition, with a large integrated FIFO that lets the host system retrieve data efficiently, as well as smart features and interrupts including tilt detection, free-fall, wakeup, 6D/4D orientation, click, and double-click, the ISM330DLC enables power-conscious application design to achieve additional energy savings. There is also a sensor-hub feature for efficiently collecting data from additional external sensors. Extensive industrial-grade design features are built-in, including a dedicated configurable low-latency signal- processing path, low noise, and filtering optimized to ensure closed-loop control stability. The signal path can be independently configured to make gyroscope or accelerometer data available through an auxiliary SPI interface.

Flex Power Modules targets emerging Direct Conversion market with class-leading isolated DC-DC converter Flex Power Modules introduces its first generation of Direct Conversion products to address the growing need for higher energy efficiency levels in data center and cloud computing infrastructure. The new BMR481 DC- DC converter has an input range of 40-60V targeting 48- 54V nominal supplies, and a programmable 0.5-1.35V output. The 12 x 27.7mm footprint ‘main’ module provides a maximum output current of 70A and also incorporates a digital interface for monitoring, configuration and control purposes. This main unit can then be supported by up to 5 additional ‘satellite’ modules, resulting in a total current rating that reaches 420A The single-stage BMR481 provides an attractive alternative to the conventional two-stage intermediate bus converter (IBC) and point of load (POL) architecture – where an extra conversion step is required, which thereby takes up greater space and impacts operational performance. In contrast, this new groundbreaking Direct Conversion module presents engineers with a far more streamlined and economical solution. It is capable of achieving up to 92% efficiency from a 1V output at 53V in – which is 2-3% higher than what an equivalent IBC-based deployment can deliver. It also allows a
