switch-mode buck-boost charger from Analog Devices, Inc. charges wearables, hearables and Internet of Things (IoT) devices faster and in less space than any other PMIC available. The MAX77659 SIMO PMIC delivers over four hours of play time after a short, ten- minute charge, and uses a single inductor to power multiple rails, reducing the bill of materials (BOM) by 60 percent and shrinking total solution size by 50 percent. View the MAX77659 SIMO PMIC product page, download the data sheet and order samples › Learn more about ADI’s low-power PMICs › Download a high-resolution image › Connect with engineers and ADI product experts on EngineerZone™, an online technical support community The MAX77659 SIMO PMIC integrates a switch- mode buck-boost charger and three independently programmable buck-boost regulators, all sharing a single inductor to minimize total solution size. The regulators extend battery life by operating at 91 percent efficiency during moderate to heavy load conditions while consuming only 5µA of quiescent current during light load conditions. The MAX77659 SIMO PMIC supports autonomous headroom control, which reduces heat dissipation by minimizing the voltage drop while providing enough headroom to regulate the charging current. “Analog Devices’ SIMO product technology shrinks size and boosts performance in the smallest of hearable and wearable devices,” said Roger Yeung, Executive Business Manager for the Battery Power Solutions Business Unit at Maxim Integrated®, now part of Analog Devices. “The MAX77659 brings the ‘on-the-go’ lifestyle to the next level by minimizing plug-in time and maximizing play time. The MAX77659 PMIC frees up board real estate to pack in additional features such as expanded memory storage, location tracking and vital sensing demanded by today’s portable consumer and medical devices.” MAX77659 SIMO PMIC Features and Benefits Fastest Charging: The MAX77659 integrates a switch mode buck-boost charger that charges wearables and hearables four times faster. A short, ten-minute charge delivers over four hours of play time compared with traditional solutions that can deliver just one-and-

Teledyne e2v introduces the industry’s smallest 2MP & 1.5MP CMOS sensors, featuring a low-noise global shutter pixel New Topaz sensors are ideal for mobile applications, offering an attractive price point with no-compromise performance. Teledyne e2v, a part of Teledyne Technologies [NYSE: TDY], has introduced its Topaz series of industrial CMOS sensors with new 2MP and 1.5MP resolution devices. These new 1920 x 1080 and 1920 x 800-pixel format sensors use state-of-the-art low noise, global- shutter pixel technology to offer powerful solutions and enable compact mobile designs for many applications. Housed in a tiny 4.45 mm wide Chip Scale Package (CSP), the Topaz sensors have an optical array centre which precisely matches the mechanical centre of the package, allowing for a slim camera design. This makes them particularly suitable for miniature OEM barcode
